Nearly Half Of World's Consumers: Sure, Let's See More Online Advertising 

An international study polling 27,000 consumers has found that there are healthy numbers of consumers willing to see more online advertising in exchange for the content they're after.  The AC Nielsen study, published this month, found that nearly half of consumers (47%)  responded they would accept more ads to subsidize content - and some areas were over half.

The Middle East Says Bring On The Effective Online Advertising


The regions most willing to bring on the ads?  The Middle East, Africa, and Pakistan responding with a 57% positive response to the question of more ad subsidization of free content.  Following that group is Asia-Pacific with 55% positive.  North American and European respondents were less enthusiastic, yet not generally opposed to the idea, coming in at 40% and 39% positive, respectively.

Later in January, broader findings are coming from the study, and I'll stay on top of it.  Suffice it to say this study isn't the only indicator that advertising's role in bringing content online is unlikely to diminish.  If you can efficiently service the growth in ad demand, it's a good time to be an advertiser, and a good time to be an agency.
